This time it's Alan Bates, as I joyfully unwind with a rewind performance of "Oliver's Travels." My heart starts beating over the actor's performance, and the quirky wonderfulness of the character Oliver, only to sink when I find (on researching) that Bates passed away in December 2003.
I hate finding out I have a crush on a dead guy. Sigh.
