Stick a fork in a black canvas and call it "art"

While in San Francisco this week I stopped in at the SF Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Normally I am a fan of the moderne, but the collection here was about the most gawd-awful I have ever seen.

Lessons learned: You can ...

... hang a string of light bulbs awry in a corner and call it art.

... throw ugly colors of paint angrily at a canvas and call it art.

... hang some women's clothing on a portable garment rack and call it art.

... photograph any bum on the street and call it art.

... stick a urinal on a pedestal and call it ... well, you get the picture.

I think the only art involved here is the sly art of getting other people to pay you a million dollars for this type of pandering.

Stick a fork in me and call me DONE with abstract expressionism!
