Today is the first day of the rest of my life

Feeling that I waste a lot of time and wanting to put more controls in place on my time, I decided to journal more. Plus I started a spiritual discipline and study at church tonight and adding more rigor to my life is part of the desired process. "Experiencing Transformation" is the title of the course.

So, I got up at 9:00 a.m. Worked on the computer. Contacted two potential employers. One is a part time job, for which I have to complete a 2-question RFP. The other is a full time job in Wisconsin. Shall I retire to Lake Winnebago? Maybe! Phone interview for that one tomorrow.

Went to the post office to mail my estimated quarterly taxes, and hit the car wash on the way home. I adore using the high powered sprayer. Spent $2.75.

In the afternoon I planted snapdragons and mums on the back porch in planters - all yellow! Also have some mini pansies that need planting. They are so cute - the flowers are the size of my thumbnail. I also prepared a mid-sized planter for indoors in which to grow the avocado seed which has sprouted so magnificently in the kitchen. I wonder how long it will be before I can harvest avocados.

After learning how to transfer analog video to my computer over the weekend, I started a YouTube account and uploaded the Pavarotti commercial I made in 1982. It took four tries with different email addresses before the YouTube confirmation email got to me. Yahoo, MSN, and Gmail all failed to let the emails through to my inbox and no, they weren't in the spam filters either. Finally got it in Verizon.net which I never use, but I guess now it has its uses. However the video doesn't show up in searches on YouTube so what is up with that?

I plan to add more home video to YouTube just for family to view. You know, silly kid stuff.

Photographed and posted ads for two gently used handbags on Craig's List. Someone actually flagged it which was very annoying - someone else selling designer bags I guess! - so I had to repost. Also reposted the signed Troy Aikman photo. Would love to pass that on to a true believer.

At 7:00 PM went to church to start the "Transformation" group. Homework consists of Old Testament readings in Genesis and Job; readings in two other books; one hour of silence to be with God (this will be hard; I am very distractible); taking a general knowledge self-test on the Bible (quick, name all ten Commandments and Jesus' seven last sayings on the Cross); and working on time management - hence the blog.

Oh yes, I made banana muffins when I got home. They have streusel on top and are yummy. Will freeze these and give them to my folks on Friday, when I meet them and some friends for lunch at their Club.

Have to make some decisions about health, diet and fitness. Another day.
